Vendor Manager Japan Supply Chain
Job Summary
- Own vendor performance across key operational metrics including service levels quality delivery responsiveness cost budget performance and compliance ensuring spend is effectively managed and aligned with business objectives.
- Drive vendor performance according to SLA to deliver the right service to our customers. Support supplier onboarding operational readiness and business continuity planning for new and existing vendors if needed.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency reduce costs and simplify processes through standardisation automation and stronger vendor collaboration.
- Partner with vendors to investigate operational issues identify root causes and implement sustainable corrective and preventive actions.
- Manage operational escalations balancing business priorities while maintaining strong long-term supplier relationships.
- Lead regular vendor business reviews establishing clear performance expectations identifying improvement opportunities and ensuring agreed actions are executed.
- Analyse vendor performance data to identify trends risks and opportunities using insights to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with internal Supply Chain teams including Planning Logistics Warehouse Operations Quality Procurement and Customer Support to resolve operational issues and improve end-to-end execution.
- Monitor contractual obligations operational compliance and governance processes ensuring vendors consistently meet Bloomberg standards and policies.
- Communicate vendor performance operational risks and improvement initiatives to regional and global stakeholders through clear reporting and governance forums.
- Support sourcing and procurement teams by providing operational input into vendor selection performance assessments and ongoing supplier strategy.
- 6 years of experience in Vendor Management Supply Chain Operations Procurement Logistics or Operations Management.
- Experience in managing third-party vendors and driving vendor performance improvements.
- Strong understanding of end-to-end Supply Chain operations.
- Demonstrated experience analysing operational data and translating insights into business improvements.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills across internal and external partners.
- Experience managing operational escalations and influencing without direct authority.
- Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced operational environment.
- Business-level English and native in or business-level Japanese language proficiency.
- Experience in managing contract logistics service providers or contract manufacturers repair vendors.
- Knowledge of supplier performance management methodologies and KPI governance.
- Experience leading continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Six Sigma or similar methodologies.
- Familiarity with SAP ERP systems and business intelligence tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Experience supporting cross-functional regional or global Supply Chain projects.
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to balance service quality risk and cost.
