The Basics

Tanium is looking for a passionate Threat Hunter to join our rapidly growing team of intrusion analysts tasked with defending Tanium customers and understanding their adversaries. As part of our team you will bring with you your experience in cybersecurity and threat intelligence to help grow and shape threat hunting at Tanium.

Summary/Objectives

This role delivers expertlevel threat operations support by strengthening customer incident response readiness performing handson threat hunting and enhancing detection and visibility across enterprise environments. It partners directly with customers in a handsonkeyboard capacity to operationalize Tanium build APIbased integrations and drive meaningful security improvements. Theobjectiveis to elevate customer maturityto a proactive security strategyby combining technical depth productexpertise and close collaboration with internal teams to addressemergingthreats and evolving operational needs.

Essential Job Functions

• Strengthen customer incident response readinessassistwith remediation planning and augment response capabilities during incidents to improve overall security maturityand readiness of customers

• Perform handson threat hunting with customers executing the full hunting lifecycle to detect investigate and reduce emerging threats

• Provide expert deployment and enablement of Tanium Security Operations solutions tailored to each customers unique use cases

• Conduct threat intelligence analysis build and refine detections and tune intel with customers to enhance threat visibility and response

• Work sidebyside with customers in a handsonkeyboard capacity to guide support and maximize the effectiveness of the Tanium Platform

• Collaborate closely with internal product teams providing customerdriven feedback and handson insights to shape and enhance the Tanium Platform

• Build APIdriven integrations with thirdparty tools and create custom Tanium hunts using the API to baseline and enhance customer threat visibility and capability

• Partner with internal teams to research emerging security challengessuch as AI container and cloud security and OTto inform customer guidance and platform improvements

Minimum & Preferred Job Qualifications

• 5 years of experiencein cybersecurity operations incident response threat hunting or related defensive security roles

• Handson experienceperforming threat hunting detection analysis and investigation work across enterprise environments

• Strong knowledge of incident response processes including scoping containment remediation planning and postincident improvements

• Experience with security platformssuch as EDR SIEM SOAR threat intelligence platforms or similar technologies

• Direct customerfacing experienceprovidingsecurity guidance technical support or operational enablement

• Proficiencywith scripting or API usage(e.g. Python PowerShell REST APIs) for integrations and datadriven investigations

• Understandingthreat intelligence concepts detection engineering principles and threat visibility best practices.

• Ability to collaborate crossfunctionallywith product engineering and security teams to translate customer needs into actionable improvements

• Strong communicationskills including the ability to explain complex technical topics to varied audiences.
• Language skills; Native-level fluency in Japanese and business-level proficiency in English are both required.
