Staff or Principal Functioanl Security Engineer

You will play a key role in strengthening the security of Renesas Embedded Processing (EP) products including MCUs MPUs wireless connectivity devices AI accelerators and system solutions. As a member of the EP Core Technology Security team you will be responsible for ensuring security throughout the product lifecycle.
You will collaborate with product divisions software organizations and external ecosystem partners to drive the integration of security into products at every stage from architecture design to product deployment.
You will also influence company-wide security strategy contribute to industry standards and drive compliance with evolving security requirements including the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) the EU Radio Equipment Directive (RED) IEC 62443 SESIP PSA Certified and FIPS 140-3.

(Key Responsibilities)
Define Product Security Architecture and Requirements
     Cover secure boot Root of Trust key management cryptographic acceleration secure firmware updates and related capabilities.
Support Product Security Implementation and Development
  Support the development and deployment of security IP including hardware security modules (HSMs) and Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs).
  Build frameworks that enable cybersecurity through security software key management solutions secure provisioning mechanisms and related technologies.
  Support compliance with security-related laws and standards (CRA PSIRT) and drive device security certification.
Customer/Partner Engagement and Security Training
  Build collaborative relationships with ecosystem partners including security solution vendors security evaluation bodies and standards organizations.
  Develop security expertise through training on security best practices and related topics.

Qualifications :

Must
Deep expertise in embedded systems and cybersecurity for embedded devices along with knowledge of or experience with the latest security regulations certification frameworks and secure product development practices.

Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Engineering Computer Science Electrical Engineering Cybersecurity or related field.
5 years of experience in embedded systems cybersecurity semiconductor product development or related engineering disciplines.
Strong understanding of embedded hardware and software architecture.
Experience with cryptographic algorithms and security functions including AES RSA ECC PQC TLS Secure Boot Secure Firmware Update
Experience with threat modeling methodologies such as STRIDE and TARA.
Knowledge of secure development lifecycle (SDL) methodologies.
Experience with embedded C/C ARM-based systems RTOS Linux or MCU platforms.
Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Ability to influence technical strategies across multiple teams.

WANT
    Experience supporting projects aimed at achieving compliance with regulations such as CRA RED and NIS2.
    Hands-on experience obtaining security certifications such as PSA SESIP and FIPS 140-3.
    Knowledge of or practical experience with industrial cybersecurity frameworks such as IEC 62443.
