Amazon MGM Studios is the home for talent creating and producing Original films and television series for a global audience. Original series premiere exclusively on Prime Video which is available in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide. Amazon MGM Studios also produces and acquires Original movies for theatrical release and exclusively for Prime Video.

Our Japan Local Originals team is now seeking an exceptional Senior Creative Executive to focus on Scripted Series and Local Original Movies. This pivotal role involves managing the entire lifecycle of original scripted local productions from sourcing and development to execution reporting directly to the Head of JP Local Originals.

The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in content development either as a producer or commissioner with a comprehensive understanding of the domestic scripted TV and film landscape. Were looking for someone with proven creative instincts in selecting developing producing and greenlighting projects coupled with strong interpersonal skills and established industry relationships. This Tokyo-based position requires a dynamic outgoing and self-motivated individual capable of juggling multiple high-priority tasks in a fast-paced environment.

The successful applicant will oversee numerous projects in various stages of development and production manage a high volume of submissions and attend frequent meetings with industry professionals. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the future of Japanese content on a global streaming platform.

About the team
Amazon MGM Studios Japan is the Tokyo-based production and development arm focusing on local Japanese original content for Prime Video. The studio produces both scripted and unscripted content including anime aiming to deliver high-quality local stories to both domestic and international audiences.

- Speak write and read fluently in Japanese
- Bachelors degree or equivalent
- 5 years of experience in scripted series and film development in Japan
- Proven track record of developing successful TV series or films
- Deep understanding of both Japanese and global audience preferences
- Speak write and read in English
