What Youll Do
As a Sales Engineer at Black Duck you will guide customers to success across three key areas:
Technical Sales Partnership
- Build strong relationships with prospective customers by understanding their technical and business needs
- Deliver compelling product presentations demonstrations and proof-of-concepts
- Clearly articulate the value of Black Duck solutions in addressing security quality and compliance challenges
Technical Account Engagement
- Support customers throughout their journey driving successful adoption and long-term satisfaction
- Partner with customers to plan and scale deployments across enterprise environments
- Ensure a seamless transition from evaluation to implementation
Thought Leadership
- Represent Black Duck at industry events conferences and seminars
- Engage with customers prospects and peers on the latest trends in application security
- Contribute to technical communities forums and customer knowledge-sharing initiatives
What You Bring
- Hands-on software development experience in one or more of the following:
C/C Java C# Objective-C - Experience with scripting languages such as JavaScript Python Ruby or Perl
- Prior experience in customer-facing roles (e.g. Sales Engineer Consultant Technical Support or similar)
- Strong understanding of SDLC including Agile and CI/CD practices
- Familiarity with application security software quality and security tools
(Certifications such as CISSP CEH or CSSLP are a plus) - A customer-first mindset with a proactive solution-oriented approach
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to travel within Japan for customer engagements as needed
- Excellent communication skills with native-level Japanese and professional proficiency in English
