AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design planning delivery and operation of all AWS global other words were the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers storage networking power and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain and were looking for talented people who want to help.
Youll join a diverse team of software hardware and network engineers supply chain specialists security experts operations managers and other vital roles. Youll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. As a Procurement Category Manager you will create and implement sourcing strategies for complex construction services category. You will be collaborating with internal business partners and suppliers to reduce risks and costs for Amazon. You will also develop mechanisms and metrics to hold suppliers accountable for performance and delivery. Additionally you will drive results through methods that include competitive bidding negotiating and analyzing data and market trends for your category. You will also be expected to continuously improve global procurement processes and tools to drive innovations within DCSP and cross-functionally with partners.
The ideal candidate thinks long term drives multiple initiatives and communicates appropriately and influences customers and suppliers at all levels. You must be collaborative but also work with significant autonomy. To be successful in this role you must be highly analytical; think strategically and globally; have a sense of urgency to meet customer timelines; exhibit curiosity and learning drive; succeed in a fast-paced environment; engage and influence key stakeholders; and have a high level of customer focus and business judgement. Also you must have a demonstrated track record of managing multiple projects and driving them to completion to meet business objectives. It will be critical to embrace and model Amazons Leadership Principles and have an entrepreneurial spirit with a get it done mentality.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Manage General Contractor and Construction Services procurement to support the planning construction and scaling of data center capacity in Japan
Develop category strategies contracting/delivery models and influence all levels of the AWS organization
Analyze category data and metrics to establish and implement procurement category strategies
Understand trends in customers needs and concerns across categories and regions to influence customers priorities
Provide in-depth knowledge about the supply market and supplier capabilities technically and geographically to the business.
Develop mechanisms and metrics to track supplier performance related to delivery quality and cost
Lead business reviews to discuss best practices and issues and to ultimately improve supplier performance and strengthen business partnerships
Innovate within the procurement space automating and/or improving tools or processes to better support the Procurement Lifecycle
Provide support throughout the contracting process as well as management of contracts post-execution
Travel of up to 10% may be required

- 5 years of work in a procurement organization performing vendor management contract management negotiating complex purchases and bidding experience
- Experience in strategic sourcing including vendor negotiations global contract management process improvement operational and financial analysis
- Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Business Engineering Finance or a related technical field
- Experience with data analysis tools such as Advanced Excel SQL Tableau Python

- Experience in global supply chain management managing cross-functional teams in a fast-paced consumer electronics product company
- Experience in data centers infrastructure service providers or related technology companies
- Masters degree in Business Administration Finance Economics Computer Science or a related field
