Job Summary

Job Purpose

The Hepatology MSL Manager is accountable for leading and driving the performance of the Hepatology MSL team in Japan.

The role ensures delivery of the Medical Plan through high-quality non-promotional scientific engagement with external experts investigators and relevant stakeholders.

The MSL Manager develops MSL capabilities to achieve world-class scientific engagement through effective coaching mentoring field leadership and performance management.

The role contributes to the successful execution of medical strategy launch readiness clinical study support evidence generation and insight collection in the hepatology therapeutic area.

The MSL Manager acts as a role model mentor and coach for MSLs ensuring all activities are conducted in compliance with Japanese regulations GSK policies and applicable SOPs.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the Hepatology MSL team reporting to the MSL Head.

Develop and implement the external engagement plan for Hepatology in alignment with the Medical Plan and overall therapeutic area strategy.

Identify and build scientific relationships with appropriate External Experts investigators and scientific societies in Hepatology.

Build a high-performing MSL team by setting clear objectives priorities and development plans.

Coach and develop MSLs to enhance scientific communication insight generation stakeholder engagement and field execution capabilities.

Support MSLs in peer-to-peer scientific exchange with external experts to deliver high-quality medical insights to Medical Affairs Clinical Development Commercial and other internal stakeholders as appropriate.

Collaborate with Medical Affairs Clinical Operations Development and other cross-functional partners to support effective execution of medical and clinical activities in Japan.

Provide scientific leadership for hepatology-related activities including clinical study support launch preparation evidence generation and external engagement.

Ensure all MSL activities are conducted in accordance with Japanese regulations GSK policies and applicable SOPs.

Serve as a medical/scientific expert and trainer for internal stakeholders regarding hepatology disease areas and related scientific evidence.

Basic Qualification

Education Requirements:

Bachelors degree or above in life sciences pharmaceutical sciences medical science pharmacy nursing or other healthcare-related disciplines.

Job Related Experience:

At least 3 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry.

Experience in Medical Affairs Clinical Development Clinical Operations or a related healthcare/pharmaceutical function.

Experience engaging external experts investigators scientific societies or clinical stakeholders.

Ability to make appropriate decisions based on regulations compliance requirements and SOPs.

Language:

Japanese in Native level

Preferred Qualification

Education Requirements and Job Related Experience:

Advanced scientific or healthcare-related degree is preferred.

Experience as an MSL or MSL Manager is preferred.

Experience managing or developing field-based medical teams is preferred.

Hepatology experience preferred; HBV and/or HCV experience is highly desirable.

Language:

English in Business level
