Finance Manager, JP Retail Finance

The Amazon Japan Consumer business is looking for a Finance Manager to join the Retail Finance Team. Finance in Amazon has similarities to 経営企画室経営戦略本部 in Japanese companies in which you own a wide variety of planning and analysis responsibilities. This role will support retail products in the e-commerce business and will partner with business leaders to drive topline growth and profitability with a keen focus on our customers.

This role is responsible for the controllership analysis planning forecasting and reporting for the responsible product family. It touches full P/L and will require understanding and strategizing selection cost including end to end logistics options and support breakthrough customer experience projects by leading financial analysts and partnering with senior business leaders. It is a unique opportunity with a broad scope to partner with teams critical to the customer experience for consumers in Japan. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to lead and develop a strong team provide analytical support for executive decision-making based on quantitative analyses think strategically and manage projects with multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities include:
- Partner with Directors and Senior Managers to drive strategic initiatives and long term success
- Develop financial and operational plans to achieve long-term business goals
- Conduct business reviews evaluate progress toward business goals and communicate progress to senior management
- Perform analyses and develop financial frameworks to identify opportunities for business improvement
- Review and report monthly and quarterly financial and operational performance to business leaders
- Maintain a strong financial control environment

- Bachelors degree in Finance engineering statistics business or related analytical degree
- 7 years of finance or a related analytical field experience
- Experience applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
- Experience building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience
- Experience participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
- English & Japanese business level proficiency

- 8 years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
- 8 years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models analysis and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g. financial savings operational improvements or customer benefits) experience
- MBA or CPA
- Knowledge of SQL/ETL
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL MS Access Essbase Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle SAP Lawson JD Edwards)
- Experience delivering forecasting budgeting and variance analysis and data interpretation of results
