The Field Service Engineer in a few words

Job Summary

• Provide onsite services support as assigned projects / tasks (installation maintenance troubleshooting modification re-location )
• Provide engineering consulting / solution to customer.
• Support assembly equipment at the facilities assigned by FS Manager or FS Trainer
• Full-time permanent position (6-month probationary period)

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Comply with Averna Code of Conduct customer site protocols and NDA requirements.
• Perform installation setup retrofit relocation and maintenance activities at customer sites.
• Troubleshoot equipment and process issues and implement corrective actions.
• Provide onsite sustain support (OSS) and preventive maintenance activities.
• Support development of SOPs work instructions and best practices.
• Train and mentor new engineers and technicians.
• Prepare daily reports travel reports and expense documentation.
• Support assembly activities assigned by management.
• Maintain company tools equipment and PPE in good condition.
• Work safely and promote a strong safety culture at all times.

Qualifications :

Minimum Qualification and required work experience

• Education:
  • Associate degree or higher (e.g. technical college / KOSEN graduate or above)  in engineering discipline or equivalent technical work experience (minimum 3 years).
• Experience:
  • 12 years in field service installation maintenance manufacturing equipment automation semiconductor equipment or related industries or 3 yrs if no engineering degree. 
• Language:
  • Japanese communication capability required; JLPT N3 or above at the time of joining with the expectation to achieve JLPT N2 or BJT >400 within 2 years.
  • - JLPT N2 or higher preferred or equivalent experience in customer communication and technical reporting in Japanese.
  • English communication skills preferred (TOEIC 500 recommended).
• Ability to read technical drawings manuals and engineering documentation.
• Knowledge of mechanical electrical automation mechatronics pneumatic and industrial chemical handling.
• Strong troubleshooting analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and within multicultural teams.
• Willingness to travel frequently within Japan and internationally.

Technical/Functional Competency:

• Ability to interpret and apply engineering documentation such as schematics wiring diagrams and equipment specifications beyond basic reading comprehension.
• Understanding of semiconductor manufacturing environments including cleanroom protocols and equipment handling requirements.
• Ability to follow structured procedures such as checklists SOPs and work instructions with high consistency and accuracy.
• Competency in documenting technical findings equipment conditions and corrective actions in a clear and structured manner.
• Ability to support equipment assembly subsystem integration and manufacturingarea tasks with attention to detail and process discipline.
• Responsible management of tools PPE and assigned equipment ensuring proper care calibration awareness and accountability.
• Ability to adapt to diverse customer environments operational rules and sitespecific requirements.
• Flexibility to work night shifts weekends extended hours and adjust to customer production schedules.
• Ability to remain calm structured and effective during escalations urgent issues or highpressure situations.
• Strong adherence to safety management principles including risk assessment and hazard prediction (KY).

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

• Maintains the level of physical fitness required for domestic and international travel.
• Able to provide a medical fitness certificate when required for customer site access or travel assignments.
• Able to work in semiconductor manufacturing facilities cleanrooms and other specialized environments.
• Willing and able to work night shifts weekends and nonstandard business hours when needed.
• Willing and able to travel frequently including longterm international assignments (up to 36 months).
• Works at Averna office under standard hours or follows customer site schedules as required.

Working Condition

• Standard work hours: 9:00 AM 6:00 PM
• Work schedules at customer sites including semiconductor cleanrooms and high-tech manufacturing facilities may vary based on customer operational requirements and shift schedules.
• Domestic and international travel may be required depending on project assignments.
• Average overtime: approximately 1020 hours per month depending on project requirements
• Safety and technical training may be provided as required by specific customer sites or project assignments.
• Company-provided PPE and commitment to a safe working environment.

Work Location

• Work location may vary by project
• Projectbased assignments at customer sites across Japan (including but not limited to Shiga Mie Yamanashi Iwate) and overseas locations such as South Korea and the United States may be required depending on project needs.
• All business travel expenses including transportation and accommodation are fully covered by the company
