Director of Engineering
We are currently seeking a Director of Engineering to join the Shangri-La Kyoto team.
In this role you will oversee all Engineering operations across the hotel ensuring the safe efficient and reliable operation of building systems facilities and equipment. You will lead the Engineering team drive preventive maintenance programs and support the hotels operational and financial objectives.
You will be responsible for maintaining hotel assets managing utilities and energy conservation initiatives ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements and overseeing maintenance and renovation projects. You will also work closely with hotel leadership contractors and government authorities to support operational excellence and a safe environment for guests and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee Engineering operations and provide leadership to the team
- Ensure all hotel facilities equipment and MEP systems operate efficiently
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs
- Drive energy conservation and utility management initiatives
- Manage annual budgets CapEx planning and asset management programs
- Oversee maintenance projects renovations and facility improvements
- Ensure compliance with safety Fire Life Safety and regulatory requirements
- Liaise with contractors suppliers consultants and government authorities
- Manage inventories spare parts and maintenance contracts
- Lead team development training and performance management
- Participate in Executive Committee (EXCOM) meetings and hotel-wide initiatives
- Ensure compliance with hotel policies procedures and safety standards
Requirements
- Fluent Japanese communication skills both verbal and written
- Diploma in Engineering Building Services Mechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Minimum 8 years of engineering experience in hospitality facilities management or a related industry
- Strong knowledge of building systems MEP operations and preventive maintenance
- Solid understanding of safety standards and regulatory compliance
- Proven leadership and team management skills
- Experience in budgeting CapEx planning and project management
- Strong problem-solving and communication abilities
- Computer literacy and familiarity with engineering management systems
- Ability to work flexible hours as required by operations
- English communication skills (Desirable)
- Previous luxury hotel experience as a Chief Engineer or similar leadership role (Desirable)

応募資格
- 日本語での優れたコミュニケーション能力口頭文書
- 工学建築設備機械工学電気工学または関連分野の学歴
- ホテル施設管理または関連業界における8年以上の実務経験
- 建物設備およびMEPシステムに関する知識
- 安全衛生および法令遵守に関する知識
- 高いリーダーシップおよびチームマネジメント能力
- 予算管理設備投資計画プロジェクト管理経験
- 優れた問題解決能力およびコミュニケーション能力
- PCスキルおよび設備管理システムの利用経験
- オペレーションに応じて柔軟に勤務できる方
- 英語力をお持ちの方 (歓迎)
- ラグジュアリーホテルでのChief Engineerまたは同等ポジション経験者 (歓迎)
