Job Summary
ROLE SUMMARY We are seeking a Chief Manager-level IT professional to oversee system architecture and underwriting-related IT processes within an insurance business context. The role requires deep understanding of insurance IT
systems (co-insurance reinsurance rating organizations) strong project management capability and a solid grounding in information security.
Initial responsibilities will be assigned based on the candidates current capabilities and will expand over time.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Understand and maintain an overall view of system architecture including co-insurance reinsurance and rating organization systems as part of the broader IT infrastructure.
- Review and approve insurance underwriting applications.
- Manage processes and ensure successful implementation of IT projects.
- Apply sound knowledge of information security practices.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:
1. Minimum 10 years of professional experience in an IT department.
2. Professional experience with a major IT vendor (e.g. IBM Fujitsu Hitachi or NTT DATA).
3. Experience working within a financial institution including exposure to FSA (Financial Services Agency) guidelines and regulatory requirements.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
1. Direct experience with insurance industry IT systems particularly co-insurance reinsurance or rating organization platforms.
2. Prior experience reviewing or approving underwriting applications or working closely with underwriting teams.
3. Demonstrated experience managing IT projects end-to-end from planning through implementation.
4. Working knowledge of information security frameworks and best practices (e.g. ISO 27001 NIST).
5. Business-level Japanese (JLPT N2 and above).
