Amazon Logistics is seeking an accomplished analytical hands-on and customer obsessed Capacity Engineer to join the EU&ROW Capacity Engineering team. You will be responsible for a variety of complex mechanical capacity topics whilst also supporting Process & Design Engineers with the necessary analytical insights to optimize operational processes on an ongoing basis. You will own 3 core functions: (1) Own the program management of EU&ROW Capacity products and help plan and deliver these products in collaboration with the Process and Project engineers (2) Own analytics drive insights & optimization for all planning cycles (3 Year Plan Operational Plans (OP1/OP2) High Volume Events) and (3) Identify and deliver innovative capacity enhancing opportunities. The role is inherently cross-functional.
To be successful in this role you should be able to work in a dynamic environment think big and be comfortable navigating complexity and ambiguity. This position requires deep customer focus strong self-drive and exceptional analytical skills. You will need to be detail-oriented and comfortable supporting large complex cross-functional engineering projects. You should have strong business and communication skills be comfortable in analyzing data to provide data-driven recommendations and be able to partner with stakeholders to define key business requirements. Lastly you will be expected to have a detailed understanding of our business and operations while not losing sight of the broader problems that we are trying to solve.
* Analyse and make design recommendations for stations mechanical capacity to meet customer demand for a particular country/region.
* Lead dedicated programs to benchmark speed and capacity opportunities in the region.
* Support reporting cycles for Process Engineering/Capacity as well as High Volume Events in partnership with Peak Captains and Ops leaders
* Capacity problem-solving and analytics
* Support team members with data collection and analytical insights as part of network-wide process improvement projects
* Provide actionable insights from strong analysis of large amounts of data
* Run programs that need a good mix of process understanding/technical background program management skills and data analytics skills
* Apply best practices from and share best practices with WW counterparts.
A day in the life
Your day could include engagement with all levels of the organization and multiple stakeholder groups to drive short mid and long term decisions that have impact on a large scale across the AMZL network. You would also be working with partners from Operations Leaders Long Term Planning Peak Captains Delivery Station Design and run station/network level capacity related analysis to build AMZL Delivery Stations of the future. You will put in place mechanisms to track project success measure KPIs and build reports to provide visibility to senior leaders across the organization. Finally you will have fun doing everything listed above.
About the team
The AMZL EU&ROW Engineering team partners closely with AMZL Operations and support functions to identify design and develop best-in-class process infrastructure and process layouts and to deliver them as AMZL network standard infrastructure. To enable this the team supports prioritization of regional and WW continuous improvement initiatives in addition to cross-regional benchmarking. The Capacity Engineering team is supporting all EU and ROW countries and based out of Japan EU and Brazil.
- Bachelors degree or above in engineering project management operations logistics supply chain or related field
- Experience in capacity planning operations planning business analysis or equivalent
- Experience creating and improving processes
- Experience with project management
- Experience conducting sophisticated and creative analysis of complex data and translate the results into actionable deliverables messages and presentations
- Experience with data analysis tools such as Advanced Excel SQL Tableau Python
- Experience building and operating a cloud-based architecture
- Experience working effectively across cross-functional teams and partnering well with people at all levels within an organization
- Masters degree or above in computer science machine learning engineering or related fields or experience in defining and creating benchmarks for assessing GenAI model performance
