About the Role
Position Description
The Fixed Income Division (FID) Business Control Unit (BCU) is seeking a candidate to support first line nonfinancial risk management for FID with a particular focus on activities conducted from and in support of the Japan FID business. The role covers key risk areas including operational conduct regulatory technology and client risk. As part of the First Line of Defense the position requires close collaboration with Front Office and Infrastructure stakeholders in Japan as well as across Asia and globally.
Key responsibilities:
Perform first line non-financial risk management for FID businesses in Asia including rates FX credit commodities and other FID related business lines.
Coordinating new business projects and initiatives pre-trade approval governance reviewing operational risk incidents assessing client governance issues business continuity and coordinating regulatory projects that impact the division.
Work with internal and external counterparts to facilitate new business and project initiatives. This includes working with FID business owners and other internal stakeholders to drive the project overseeing complex deliverables to meet targeted timelines budget and quality standards.
Daily or regular tasks related to the risk management function include but are not limited to:
Represent FID BCU in regional and global risk and control initiatives.
Create and maintain business-related policies and procedures and ensure a standardized and consistent approach for the Division to adhere to them.
Helping to assess and coordinate new business initiatives for the division.
Assessing ad-hoc transaction approvals for complex trades.
Managing operational risk incidents general operational queries/issues and specific programs such as the Non-Financial Risk Assessment (NFRA).
Helping to manage regulatory changes that impact the division.
Supporting regulatory enquiries / inspections internal audits and compliance testing that impact the division.
Qualifications Skills and Requirements
Key skills and experience requirements:
Proficient in Japanese and English both written and spoken.
Technical FID product knowledge.
Be able to work in a fast-paced environment and make sound judgment calls.
Be able to find balance between commerciality and prudent risk management.
Ability to interact with stakeholders of varying seniority in different groups.
Strong project management skills.
Self-motivated collaborative and focused on continuous process improvement.
