The Senior Valve and Actuator Engineer for Subsea Structures will be responsible for valve and actuator selection utilized across Baker Hughes subsea product line. Responsibility covers but not limited to: the design and specification for valves used with Baker Hughes manifolds Xmas Tress Pipelines Subsea Distribution Units Umbilical Termination Assemblies and Pressure Caps.

As Senior Valve and Actuator Engineer you will be responsible for:

  • Selecting valves and actuators as well as issue the documentation required for subsea products

  • Preparing the valves and actuators specifications fulfilling Customer Specs International Codes and Third Parties Requirements (i.e. review Factory Acceptance Test procedures Inspection Test Plan Quality Control Plan and drawings) in strict coordination with other disciplines such as piping structure and modeling & drafting

  • Taking care of vendors and sites activities follow-up.

  • Understanding and having knowledge of NDTs.

  • Using Baker Hughes quality tools to measure their performance in terms of timeliness (OTD) and quality (FTY) of the deliverables

  • Being involved in supporting the growth of the business by cooperating to the preparation of technical proposals and/or Design Templates/Practices

  • Update catalogues of configured pre-qualified valves. Reduce part proliferation and ensure part re-use.

  • Potentially enhancing valve designs and driving qualification in line with industry standards. Ensure solutions are cost effective for target markets.

  • Being the point of contact for advice and problem resolution to clients sourcing product management and manufacturing related to valves & actuators.

  • Continuously driving the creation of common specifications procedures and approaches through areas of expertise across the subsea productions systems. Identifying Synergies and eliminating duplication of effort and waste.

  • Working closely with sourcing manufacturing and quality to ensure philosophy of the Product Catalogue is understood and leveraged in long-term supplier agreements. Solicit feedback from supply chain and across functions to ensure the Product Catalogue offers maximum value.

To be successful in this role you will hold:

  • Masters or Bachelor degree in Engineering or science based discipline.

  • 10 years of strong and demonstrated experience in valves/actuators activity / industry.

  • Excellent knowledge of major technical International Standards related to the discipline (ASME B31.3 ASME B31.8 API 6A 17D API 6DSS).

  • Good knowledge and awareness of API 17D Valve Qualifications and compliance.

  • Abilitytomanagemultipleprioritiesandrespond to urgent executive requests in a timely manner.

  • English language fluency

  • Knowledge of materials and piping

  • Experience in subsea products (preferred) and/or Oil & Gas products

  • Familiarity with major naval registers regulations and subsea standards (DNV LLRR ABS etc) for fixed and mobile offshore installations

  • Availability to travel internationally for project needs and for short term assignments

The initial pay range for this position will be EUR 45087 To 83000.

The provisions of Contratto Collettivo Industria Metalmeccanica e della installazione di impianti will be applied to this position. Section VI Titolo IV of that collective bargaining agreement relates to pay.
