Senior Technical Services Representative Puglia area
Job Summary
The Technical Sales Representative is responsible for assisting the Area Sales Managers withcalling on prospective customers/target accounts and evaluating and providing technical support to Key New and Existing account customers.
In this role you will cover all the Puglia area.
Responsibilities
- Ensure customer quality and service expectations are met.
- Support customers with plant audits trouble-shooting general technical support and process development.
- Eliminate or reduces customer complaints.
- Help achieve or exceed sales and margin goals.
- Help increase volume growth.
- Communicate extended product knowledge in wood
- Attend coatings seminars and trade shows pertinent to sales/marketing.
- Manage product trials at designated customer facilities.
- Support national accounts specifications approval process.
- Maintain contact with laboratory on current technical issues.
- Work closely with the laboratories.
- Assist with equipment installation and various line or equipment modifications/adjustments.
- Conduct technical training seminars at customers facilities.
- Evaluate product complaints and decides the best way to resolve problems.
- Assist customers in preparing paint specifications to meet product applications.
- Troubleshoot on-line technical problems such as correcting batches and formulation of products.
- Advise customers of product line changes and improvements.
- Maintain expertise in product finishes equipment use and surface preparation.
- Assist customers with product inventory control/re-ordering.
- Train customers on product knowledge and application methods.
- Assist Area Sales Managers by preparing samples panels etc. for presentations.
- Maintain customer technical service issues on file for follow-up.
Qualifications
At least 5 years of experience in technical support for coating products preferably in the wood industry.
Good understanding of and experience in the Italian Industrial Wood coatings market
Strong knowledge of application processes surface preparation and finishing systems.
Ability to troubleshoot technical issues on-site and remotely providing effective and timely solutions.
Excellent customer-facing and communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
Experience in supporting sales teams and collaborating cross-functionally (R&D production quality).
Proven ability to manage customer relationships and handle complaints or claims professionally.
Good understanding of industry standards regulations and safety requirements related to coatings.
Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive results-oriented approach.
Ability to hand-spray all major coatings technologies
Experience of working with automatic colour-matching systems
Availability to travel frequently to customer sites and production facilities.
