The Organization
The Agroecology Coalition secretariat is located at the Bioversity International headquarters in Rome.
About the position
Based in Rome Italy and under the direct supervision of the Communications Officer the trainee will provide general support to the work of the Agroecology Coalition and assist with communication and administrative tasks related to the Coalitions activities.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the creation of social media content and the curation of Coalitions social media channels.
- Assist with the monitoring and analysis of the Coalitions social media channels.
- Assist with website management update and maintenance.
- Assist with the drafting of the monthly internal and quarterly external newsletter and other communication materials.
- Assist with setting up meetings (Working Groups biannual General Assembly Constituency Calls etc.) and taking minutes.
- Assist in maintaining contact database and members area on the website up to date up to date
- Assist with event organization (e.g. logistics travel arrangements).
- Assist with collecting some documentation related to accounting (invoices travel reimbursements).
- Undertake other related duties as required (e.g. translation/ proofreading).
Essential Requirements
- Secondary school education
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite packages.
- Working knowledge of the English language both written and spoken.
- Good interpersonal communications and teamwork skills courtesy and tact and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with people of different cultural and national backgrounds.
- Good skills in personal organization and priority setting.
Desirable Requirements
- Previous internship experience.
- University degree in communications marketing journalism political sciences or related fields of studies.
- Working Knowledge of graphic design tools and video editing.
- Working knowledge of additional languages (e.g. Spanish).
- Work experience in an international environment and on food system related topics.
Terms of employment
The contract is initially for a period of six (6) months. The contract may be extendable based on performance and availability of funds.

- Be Italian nationals holding a valid passport or identity card.
- Or be EU citizens holding a valid passport or identity card and confirmation of registration from the Registrars Office (Anagrafe).
- Or Non EU citizens holding a valid Italian work permit (permesso di soggiorno per lavoro subordinato).
