Product Development Engineer

What you can expect in this role

As Product Development Engineer within the Product DevelopmentItalyteam in Massa you will be a part of a motivated and fast paced team thathas the ambition to createrealcustomer value bycombining the SKFtechnicalknowledgewith true isspread betweenthetwoSKF factoriesofMassaandAirasca; this position in particular will be located in Massa where some of the product lines we are responsible of are manufactured offeringanuniqueopportunity to fully experience how product specifications are impacting the manufacturing process.

Being in this exciting andglobalrole and working with differentstakeholderscreates the need to handle a multitude of different tasks: our way of responding to this is to design systems/processes or automations that are tailored for our needs andallowingto deliver the best quality with less possible effort. As we say: if you have to do it more than twice then its time to automate it.

What we are looking for

What we are looking for you to bring to this team is your ability to deliver product development projects in line with specifications quality and timelines transforming requirements into solid technical solutions. You will contribute to continuous improvement by supporting problem-solving and innovation activities as well asparticipatingin feasibility assessments andprovidingtechnical insights.

In this role collaboration is key: you will work closely with peers Technical Owners (TOs) and Development Portfolio Leads (DPLs) ensuring alignment while following established guidelines and processes and actively sharing knowledge within the team.

From a technical standpoint you will perform design calculations material selection and tolerance analysis for relevant products and components as well as create CAD models and drawings whenrequired. You will plan and support prototype testing analyze results and implement design improvements collaborating with manufacturing procurement and quality teams tooptimizedesigns for production. Additionally you will provide technical support to both internal stakeholders and customersparticipatein design reviews and risk assessments and analyze competitor products toidentifynew technical solutions and performance improvements.

In addition we expect you to have

• University degree in Engineering (Mechanical Industrial Materials );

• At least 1-2 yearsexperience in product development engineering or related technical field(s);

• Understanding of technical drawing rules and principles;

• Propensionin taking the lead with global problem-solving attitude;

• Proactivity inlookingnew ways of working without passively accepting existing solutions;

• Proficiencyin English verbal and written as well as Italian;

• Open to travel if needed;

• Eager to be challenged and learn

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 Windchill CREO Parametric & ANSYS will be considered as a plus.

• Certifications in project management or design analysiswill be considered as a plus.

We also need you to be a motivated team player that enjoys working with others and hasgreat interpersonal skills.

Our offer

For this position the startingpoint of the salary rangeis a gross annual salary (base salary) of 35.000 with a compensation package that includesvariable componentscompany-relatedbonusesand National LaborContractappliedisCCNLIndustriaMetalmeccanicae della installazioneimpianti.

The final offer will bedeterminedbased onobjectiveand gender-neutral criteria such as relevant marked data professional experience and technical skills.

Someadditionalinformation

The location for this position is Massa (Italy) on local contract. It does however require that youareable and willing to travel.
