Learning Support Teacher, Maternity Leave Coverage (Milano)
Job Summary
La Scuola International is seeking an enthusiastic caring and creative Learning Support Teacher (Insegnante di Sostegno) to join our Primary School team in Milan for the duration of a Maternity Leave.
We are looking for an educator who shares our commitment to inclusive child-centered and inquiry-based learning and who sees diversity as a resource. The ideal candidate is an outside-the-box thinker able to respond creatively and flexibly to individual childrens strengths needs and ways of learning.
Schedule: The teacher is expected to be onsite for in-person instruction as agreed upon with Principal and Leadership Team.
Role & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provide individualized support to students with diverse learning needs in close collaboration with classroom teachers.
- Promote students inclusion independence wellbeing and active participation in all aspects of school life.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of PEIs and personalised learning strategies.
- Observe and document students learning and progress adapting strategies accordingly.
- Collaborate closely with teachers families specialists and the school leadership team.
- Participate actively in collaborative planning team meetings and the professional life of the school.
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications :
- Appropriate qualifications to work as an insegnante di sostegno in an Italian scuola primaria paritaria.
- Experience supporting children with diverse learning needs preferably at Primary School level.
- Familiarity with the IB philosophy and inquiry-based learning.
- Familiarity with or a strong interest in the Reggio Emilia Approach.
- An outside-the-box thinker with a creative flexible and solution-oriented mindset.
- Strong relational communication and collaborative skills.
- Commitment to inclusive student-centred education.
- Excellent knowledge of English; experience in an international or bilingual environment is highly valued.

Additional Information :
Start date: Immediate
Salary: 1500 - 1750 euro per month
Candidates must be authorized to work in Italy. Prior to beginning work and as a condition of employment in order to comply with the law all employees must provide documentation to prove eligibility to work in Italy.
Final candidates will need to pass Background Clearance (Fedina Penale) and a physical exam and provide a recent copy of a negative Tuberculosis (TB) test and other immunization records.
