Junior DfT Design Engineer MCU

NXP is building new teams in Catania to develop high-impact microcontrollers (MCUs) as part of NXPs Intelligent Edge and AI strategy. These teams will bring together a broad range of engineering expertise spanning analog digital and SoC design. With end-to-end product development capabilities located in Catania we are creating world-class products at a world-class pace.

As a Digital DFT Engineer you will support the development and implementation of digital Design-for-Test (DFT) solutions for complex semiconductor devices. You will collaborate with experienced engineers to explore innovative DFT techniques algorithms and methodologies that improve product quality testability and manufacturing efficiency.

YourResponsibilities.

• Contribute to digital IC design verification and Design-for-Test (DFT) activities.
• Support the development and evaluation of DFT architectures algorithms and methodologies.
• Participate in the analysis of digital circuits to improve testability coverage and diagnosis capabilities.
• Assist in the implementation and validation of DFT solutions using industry-standard EDA tools.
• Conduct research and technical investigations related to digital design and test challenges.
• Analyze simulation and test data documenting results and proposing improvements.
• Collaborate with digital design verification product engineering and test teams.
• Prepare technical reports presentations and thesis-related documentation.
• Participate in technical reviews and contribute to engineering discussions and problem-solving activities.

YourProfile.

• Masters degree in Electronic Engineering or related field.
• Interest in semiconductor technologies digital integrated circuit design and test methodologies.
• Good understanding of digital electronics fundamentals logic design and computer architecture concepts.
• Familiarity with hardware description languages (Verilog SystemVerilog or VHDL) is considered a plus.
• Basic programming skills in Python C/C or similar languages.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Motivated curious and eager to learn in a challenging technical environment.

As of the date of this posting the estimated gross annual base salary range for this position in Italy is between 31200 and 43000 annually. This range is intended as a guideline. Actual compensation may vary based on qualifications experience skills and specific business or organizational needs. This position falls under the applicable National Collective Labour Agreement (Metalmeccanica Industria). Where relevant the total compensation package may also include additional elements such as annual incentive opportunities and/or equity along with a competitive benefits package.
