POSITION SUMMARY

The Head Sommelier has the primary task of assisting Guests in the selection of wines in the Resort restaurants.

The Head Sommelier is responsible for cellar activities monitoring stock levels updating the wine list (selection and supplier management) and reorganizing the daily cellar; the Head Sommelier carries out activities in the various daily restaurant services and supervises the activity of the Sommeliers.

In the execution of his/her duties he/she complies with and adheres to Lefay Resorts operating standards and hygiene and health regulations (HACCP).

The Head Sommelier reports to the Restaurant Manager.

CHARACTERISTICS:

Sommelier Diploma (e.g. AIS);
Excellent knowledge of the English language and preferably a second language;
Elegance and refined bearing;
Compliance with hygiene regulations;
Guest orientation aptitude for interpersonal relations and attention to detail;
Excellent commercial skills and sales orientation;
Previous experience in luxury hotels is not required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Technical Trade or Vocational School Degree

Related Work Experience: At least 2 years of related work experience.

Supervisory Experience: No supervisory experience.

License or Certification: None
