JOB TITLE
Hardware Obsolescence Engineer
JOB OBJECTIVE
The Obsolescence Management requires the analysis and handling of all obsolete components and modules in order to implement the necessary corrective actions ensuring production continuity and customer support.
The Hardware Obsolescence Engineer will act as the interface among the various stakeholders across the international NAS Business Segment for all obsolescence management activities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Preliminary evaluation of End of Life (EOL) and Product Change Notification (PCN) impacts on production and business
- Support the identification of alternative components both leveraging the internal component data library and searching for new parts comparing technical specifications.
- Liaise with cross-functional contributors and different stakeholders within Engineering Industry Supply Chain Service and Procurement teams to identify the most suitable solution
- Assist in populating updating and maintaining the obsolescence database
- Support the tracking and follow-up of agreed corrective actions throughout the full obsolescence management process from notification to resolution
- Proactively contribute to suggest Obsolescence Management process improvements
- Perform periodic analysis of the Bill of Materials (BoM) of the products to anticipate and proactively address new potential obsolescences to minimize impacts on business
- Set up and elaborate periodic reports related to the obsolescence status of the boards to support customer requests and management decisions
- Elaborate and monitor KPI related to the obsolescence management process
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Master degree in engineering field (ideally Electronic) or equivalent qualification
- Willingness to interface collaborate and liaise with a wide range of different stakeholder in an international company
- Strong organizational and interpersonal communication skills
- Fluent spoken and written English
- IT savvy
- Open to challenges
