The System Strengthening for Nutrition Team within the WFP Nutrition School Meals and Social Protection Service is committed to providing the tools guidelines and information needed to help Country Offices systematically integrate nutrition and HIV considerations across the WFP portfolio. This includes general food assistance school meals social protection resilience and livelihoods programming. The team also supports Country Offices to integrate Social Behavior Change (SBC) approaches into programmes when relevant.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the direct supervision of the Team Lead for System Strengthening for Nutrition the Fellow will support the team in gathering evidence and strengthening global understanding of WFPs nutrition-sensitive approaches. They will also contribute to developing actionable guidance and learning products for Country Offices.
The assignment includes the following responsibilities across different thematic areas which will be prioritized based on the candidates interests and the departments needs:
These are the main areas in which the fellow would contribute all designed to support and advance ongoing work on nutrition integration across WFP programmes across social protection school based programme resilience/climate Social Behaviour Change and HIV programming
Desk Review and data analysis
Activities focused on collecting organizing and synthesizing existing knowledge such as:
Conduct a desk review of emerging global evidence on nutrition and HIV programming.
Review corporate datasets to identify trends in WFPs nutrition-sensitive and HIV-related programming.
Support in compiling and analyze WFPs and global experiences on nutrition-sensitive programme approaches and activities.
Knowledge management and learning
Summarize key findings from desk reviews into PowerPoint presentations and other user friendly knowledge products.
Support Country Offices through development of concise learning briefs and other materials to support internal learning and dissemination.
Advocacy Communication & Event Support (for example in the organization of side events during the Rome Nutrition week and CFS establishment of TWG for NA)
Prepare materials and support the organization of advocacy or technical events.
Contribute to presentations corporate documents and internal communications to enhance visibility of nutrition sensitive programming.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Be a Masters student or a graduate in food security nutrition or related fields from a recognized university
Excellent written and spoken English is required (proficiency/level C). Working knowledge of another official UN language (French Spanish Arabic Chinese Russian plus Portuguese) is an asset
Good knowledge of MS Office Suit: Word Power Point Excel Outlook
Knowledge of nutrition and an aptitude to learn
Detail orientation and advanced organizational skills
Excellent interpersonal coordination and communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a wide range of partners
Ability to work independently and as part of team
Exhibited cross-cultural competence

TRAINING COMPONENTS
Throughout the assignment selected candidates have access to an industry leading learning platform weLearn. Depending on opportunities and availability of funds he/she may participate in WFP workshops or seminars as appropriate.

LEARNING ELEMENTS
At the end of the assignment the selected candidate should be able to:
1. Synthesis report summarizing emerging global evidence on nutrition and HIV programming.
2. A package of three user-friendly knowledge products (e.g. PowerPoint deck infographic and 2-page brief) translating desk-review findings into actionable formats for Country Offices.
3. Development of event support materials including PowerPoint presentations talking points and meeting notes to facilitate the organization and delivery of technical or advocacy events

TYPE OF ASSIGNMENT
This opportunity is particularly well-suited for students or recent graduates seeking practical experience in an international organization. It offers valuable exposure to WFPs operations and the chance to contribute meaningfully to its mission.
The selected candidate will receive IT equipment and training material; however financial compensation and medical coverage are not provided by WFP. Applicants may seek alternative funding opportunities such as university grants or external scholarships to support their assignment.
