BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:
The United Nations World Food Programme is the worlds largest humanitarian agency fighting hunger. WFPs HR Technology and Analytics Branch (HRMOI) powers the digital backbone of HR delivering smart tools data and strategy to streamline processes drive decisions and elevate experience.
HRMOI leads the development implementation and maintenance of the HR technology strategy and roadmap ensuring streamlined effective and compliant HR processes across the organization. It provides data analytics and digital tools to employees managers executives HR practitioners and external partners supporting evidence-based decision-making improving productivity and enhancing employee and customer experience.
The HRMOI Branch consists of six workstreams:
(STREAM 1) Payroll time & audit systems
(STREAM 2) Talent learning & recruiting systems
(STREAM 3) People analytics & reporting
(STREAM 4) Organization positions & security
(STREAM 5) HR capabilities system adoption & experience
(STREAM 6) HR technology implementations
ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position is under the overall supervision of the Head of HR Systems Administration & Support and the direct supervision of the HR Associate Core HR Coordinator Workday and WINGS Systems Maintenance & Support for WINGS Payroll Payroll System and Support (SAS) International Stream.
Under the guidance of the HR Associate this position takes part in the business support of the international stream team as follows:
User support
- Provide guidance to HR Users in HQ on the systems (SAP and Workday) functionality and use.
- Manage HR queries and follow up actions to ensure consistent and high-quality HR services are delivered to HR Users in Headquarters.
- Manage the monthly Bulk activities in support of the corporate payroll process & associated HR operational activities.
System solutions
- Monitor the performance of HR systems analyse errors and liaise with TEC to seek solutions or identify workaround solutions.
- Draft Business requirements on system improvements
- Test and validate the HR system solutions before implementation.
- Monitor data accuracy and oversee data cleansing activities
- Prepare internal guidelines and participate in the preparation and delivery of training on system related changes to HR Users in HQ.
Partnership
- Maintain relationships and partner with stakeholders and counterparts (FINP HRMOG HRMOP TEC and others) to coordinate the successful implementation of the HR system solutions and to ensure that cross-functional processes are in place and functioning as required.
- Other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Education:
Bachelors degree in Human Resources Computer engineering or related field.
Experience:
Three to five years of progressively responsible work experience in general administrative work including at least one year in human resources in an international context.
Work experience in HR systems administration and support would be an advantage.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Knowledge of UN business processes practices and procedures.
- Knowledge and ability to interpret HR rules regulations and data.
- Previous experience in HR Operations and working with SAP HR modules is an asset.
- Experience in customer service support.
- Good analytical and computer skills (advanced level of Excel is an asset);
- Good interpersonal and communication skills;
- Good understanding of HR principles and their application in order to respond to and resolve a range of HR queries;
- Ability to build relationships with a variety of individuals across functions and outside WFP in order to effectively contribute to the functioning of the unit.
Languages:
Fluency in oral and written English and an intermediate knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic Chinese French Russian and Spanish) is an asset.
