The Advanced Workflow Specialist Electron Microscopy Sample Preparation (d/f/m) plays a key customer-facing role within the EMEA Business Development team. The position supports pre-sales and post-sales activities by delivering expert application knowledge demonstrations trainings and workflow optimization for electron microscopy sample preparation solutions.
By acting as a technical and scientific bridge between customers Sales Business Development Product Management and R&D this role directly contributes to customer success adoption of advanced workflows and Leica Microsystems growth across the EMEA region.

The role is remote with regular 40-50% travel across the EMEA region.
We would like the successful candidate to be based in the Milan area due to the high concentration of our customers in the region and Milans excellent international connectivity through its airports enabling efficient travel across Europe.

This position reports to the EMEA Business Development leadership and is part of the EMEA Business Development Team Sample Preparation (SU).
The role is remote with regular travel across the EMEA region.
In this role you will have the opportunity to:
  • Deliver pre-sales and post-sales application support including on-site and virtual demonstrations customer trainings and workflow optimization.
  • Plan execute and support customer workshops seminars and advanced application sessions focused on electron microscopy sample preparation workflows.
  • Support marketing initiatives through scientific content contributions for webinars conferences workshops and promotional materials.
  • Develop and contribute to application data success stories and reference workflows that support the commercial organization.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of customer activities demos and trainings in CRM systems (e.g. SFDC).
The essential requirements of the job include:
  • Advanced degree (MSc or PhD) in Life Sciences Materials Science or a related scientific discipline.
  • Hands-on experience with electron microscopy (EM) sample preparation techniques (e.g. cryo-EM workflows Correlative Lights and Electron Microscopy (CLEM) workflows ultramicrotomy coating freeze-fracture). Experience with light microscopy workflows is advantageous.
  • Ability and willingness to travel frequently across the EMEA region.
  • Proficiency in English (technical and conversational); additional European languages particularly German are an advantage.
Travel Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:
  • Ability to travel up to 4050% within EMEA including overnight stays.
  • Valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to work in laboratory and customer environments and handle standard demonstration equipment.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
  • Customer-facing roles supporting complex scientific instrumentation or workflows.
  • Use of CRM systems (e.g. SFDC) and virtual demonstration tools.
  • Supporting marketing or scientific communication activities such as webinars conference presentations or application notes.
