Job Summary

Vertiv is seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Waste Operative to support the efficient collection segregation handling and disposal of waste across our manufacturing facility in Letterkenny. The successful candidate will ensure waste is managed in accordance with company procedures environmental regulations and health and safety standards while maintaining a clean and organised working environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect transport and dispose of waste from production warehouse and office areas.

• Segregate waste into the appropriate recycling and disposal streams including cardboard plastics metals wood general waste and hazardous waste where applicable.

• Operate waste handling equipment such as pallet trucks compactors balers and bins safely and efficiently.

• Empty production waste containers and replace them as required.

• Maintain waste storage areas in a clean safe and organised condition.

• Ensure all waste movements comply with environmental and company procedures.

• Carry out routine inspections of waste collection points and report any issues.

• Support housekeeping and 5S initiatives across the manufacturing site.

• Work closely with Production Warehouse EH&S and Facilities teams to ensure waste is removed promptly.

• Assist with deliveries material movement or general site support duties when required.

• Complete waste records and documentation accurately where necessary.

• Report equipment faults safety concerns spills or environmental incidents immediately.

• Wear appropriate PPE and follow all site health safety and environmental policies.

Essential Requirements

• Previous experience in a manufacturing warehouse facilities or industrial environment.

• Strong awareness of health and safety procedures.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Good organisational skills and attention to detail.

• Physically fit and capable of manual handling throughout the shift.

• Flexible approach to work and willingness to support operational requirements.

Desirable Requirements

• Counterbalance Forklift Licence.

• Experience operating balers compactors or other waste management equipment.

• Knowledge of waste segregation and recycling practices.

• Experience working within a lean manufacturing or 5S environment.
