Role Description:
The VPE & SSPE Sustaining Automation Engineer supports the computerised system needs of all the BDS Vendor Package Equipment (VPE) & Small Scale Process Equipment (SSPE) not limited to the following;

What youll do:

  • Provide automation expertise to the engineering Ops Tech Services on design and sustaining decisions
  • Design and implement solutions across the VPE & SSPE in line with the automation/site change control procedures
  • Act as the point of contact for all VPE & SSPE issues documenting and coordinating any resolutions
  • Review VPE & SSPE to identify and document improvements
  • Develop and implement Automation Job Plans
  • Work independently and/or support peers automation engineers in developing change control packs for implementation on all manufacturing systems
  • Develop review and approve design documentation
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to ensure a high level of optimization for all equipment.


The Requirements:

  • 4 years or more within the automation industry supporting GMP environments and applications
  • 2 years or more experience supporting a biopharma process
  • Experience of implementing change controls and investigating deviations/events.
  • Comprehensive understanding of cGMP requirements for clinical and commercial biopharmaceutical manufacturing and the ability to implement best practices (GAMP) to ensure site automation systems are cGMP compliant.
  • Good interpersonal skills are required as is the ability to communicate well both verbally and written documents.
