The Vet Office is recruiting a Veterinary Surgeon to join a brand-new small animal clinic in Portmarnock one of Dublins most attractive coastal locations.

This is a particularly exciting opportunity for a vet who would like to join a newly opened practice from an early stage work alongside an established team and help develop the clinic and its client base.

The Clinic

Located in Saint Marnocks Bay the clinic opened in 2026 and offers a modern environment with up-to-date diagnostic and treatment facilities.

Youll be joining an existing team including a Vet Head Nurse and Animal Care Assistant with the opportunity to become an important part of the clinic as it grows.

The Role

Youll work across a varied small animal caseload including:

Consultations and preventative healthcare
Routine surgery
Dentistry
Diagnostics and imaging
Independent case management
Client communication and continuity of care

The emphasis is on providing excellent clinical care while allowing vets to investigate and manage their cases thoroughly before referral when appropriate.

Working Pattern

5-day week
1 in 4 Saturdays
Only 1 in 12 Sundays

Salary

gross per year depending on experience.

What Were Looking For

Ideally youll have:

  • 3 years small animal experience
  • VCI registration
  • Confidence in consultations and routine surgery
  • Good independent case-management skills
  • A proactive and collaborative approach
  • An interest in continued professional development

You should be comfortable working independently while also enjoying being part of a supportive clinical team.
