Job Summary

Staffing Manager Childcare

Responsible for managing staffing requirements across early years and after-school childcare services ensuring effective workforce planning staff coverage and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Roster Management: Create and coordinate weekly staff rosters ensuring appropriate staffing levels and compliance with staff-to-child ratios.

  • Absence & Relief Cover: Respond quickly to staff absences including sick leave and annual leave by sourcing suitable replacements from the relief panel to maintain safe and effective staffing levels.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all staff have valid Garda Vetting and meet relevant Tusla requirements and childcare regulatory standards.

  • Recruitment & Onboarding: Support the recruitment process and coordinate new staff onboarding induction and required training.

  • Team Communication: Work closely with Line Managers to identify current and future staffing requirements resolve staffing challenges and support effective workforce planning.

  • Staff Coordination: Maintain clear communication with staff and management regarding roster changes availability leave and staffing requirements.

  • Performance Support: Liaise with Line Managers regarding staff performance concerns and assist with appropriate follow-up and support.

  • Workforce Planning: Anticipate staffing needs across multiple services and rosters to ensure continuity of childcare provision.

 


    Qualifications :

    • Childcare or Early Years qualification/experience

    • Minimum 2 years Strong administrative and organisational skills

    • Experience managing multiple staff and rosters

    • Knowledge of staff-to-child ratios and Tusla requirements

    • Good computer and Microsoft Office skills

    • Excellent communication and time-management skills
