We are currently recruiting a Staff Nurse Minor Theatre Department to join a leading hospital in Dublin. This role offers the opportunity to deliver exceptional patient care in an environment where quality respect compassion and dignity are at the core of everything we do.

Contract Type: Specified-Purpose Contract

Key Responsibilities
  • Practice in accordance with NMBI standards hospital policies procedures legal requirements and professional guidelines ensuring safe effective and efficient patient care from admission to discharge.

  • Complete comprehensive nursing assessments care plans and clinical documentation maintaining accurate confidential patient records and communicating relevant information to the multidisciplinary team using the approved ISBAR handover tool.

  • Administer medications safely in accordance with hospital policy including compliance with controlled drug regulations and perform clinical procedures such as IV cannulation in line with approved standards.

  • Provide professional compassionate and patient-centred care responding promptly and calmly to emergencies exercising sound clinical judgement and escalating concerns appropriately to the CNM medical staff or other relevant disciplines.

  • Demonstrate leadership by working with minimal supervision taking charge of the department in the absence of the CNM deputising when required delegating workloads appropriately and mentoring student nurses new staff nurses and care assistants.

  • Contribute to quality improvement clinical governance and hospital accreditation initiatives by promoting evidence-based best practice reporting and documenting adverse incidents participating in audits and data collection and supporting corrective actions where required.

  • Maintain effective stock and resource management participate in performance review and continuing professional development maintain education records and undertake other duties as required by the Clinical Nurse Manage



Requirements
  • Registered General Nurse on the current live register of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).

  • Completion of a relevant Theatre Nursing course.

  • Minimum of 1 years relevant Theatre nursing experience.

  • Experience working effectively within a multidisciplinary clinical environment.

  • Good IT skills are desirable.

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory for all nurses.

  • Current Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification where applicable to the area of work.
