We are currently recruiting for a Staff Nurse Medical Assessment Unit to join a hospital in Galway. This is a Fixed Term position working 36 hours per week. The role offers the opportunity to deliver high-quality patient care in an environment that values compassion dignity respect and excellence.
- Deliver nursing care and treatments in accordance with hospital policies procedures and best practice guidelines.
- Assess plan implement and evaluate patient care using the nursing process while maintaining accurate clinical documentation and supporting discharge planning.
- Safely administer medications IV therapies blood products and controlled drugs in line with hospital protocols while monitoring and documenting patient responses and reporting any adverse events.
- Follow infection prevention and control guidelines work collaboratively with the Infection Control Nurse and ensure the safe handling and disposal of medical waste according to hospital policy.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team while delivering high-quality patient care.
- Accountable and responsible for maintaining professional standards and ensuring safe patient care practices.
- Registered General Nurse (RGN) qualification with active registration with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
- Excellent communication interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Registered in the General Division of the Register of Nurses and compliant with the NMBI Code of Professional Conduct and Ethics.
- Post-registration nursing experience preferably within an Acute Medicine setting.
