Job Opportunity
We are currently hiring Staff Nurses for nursing homes in Limerick.
- Manage a daily caseload of patients ensuring comprehensive assessment care planning and accurate documentation.
- Deliver high-quality nursing care including wound management skin assessments and care for medical surgical and post-operative patients.
- Monitor and maintain patients hydration nutrition fluid balance and intake/output records.
- Support patients with activities of daily living while promoting dignity privacy respect and individuality.
- Administer medications safely via various routes (PO IV PR PEG NG) in line with policies and best practices.
- Recognise and respond to deteriorating patients using INEWS and manage infection prevention and control (IPC) precautions effectively.
- Collaborate and communicate with families and the multidisciplinary team (MDT) to ensure continuity of care from admission through to discharge planning.
- Participate in incident management quality care metrics and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with HIQA standards infection control practices (including hand hygiene) and all nursing policies and procedures.
- Maintain professional standards in line with An Bord Altranais Code of Professional Conduct and ensure safe management control and administration of medications.
- Registered General Nurse with current registration on the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
- Post-registration qualification in caring for people with dementia.
- Evidence of ongoing continuous professional development (CPD).
- Knowledge of healthcare systems organisation of services and national/international trends.
- Demonstrates professionalism in applying nursing theory to daily clinical practice.
- Strong critical thinking and clinical decision-making skills.
- Proven experience in effectively managing a patient caseload.
- Ability to access and apply both theoretical and technical knowledge in practice.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or experience.
- Competent in intravenous (IV) therapy and administration.
