Job Summary

RecruitNet International Ltd specialises in healthcare recruitment for both domestic and overseas candidates supporting Hospitals Nursing Homes Home Care and Community Care services.

We are currently hiring a Staff Nurse Day Ward for a hospital in Galway Ireland.

Contract Details:

  • Position: Staff Nurse Day Ward

  • Location: Galway Ireland

  • Contract Type: Permanent

  • Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week

    Responsibilities


  • Deliver high-quality nursing care and treatments in accordance with established hospital policies procedures and clinical guidelines.

  • Assess plan implement and evaluate patient care using the nursing process while maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records.

  • Support and implement discharge planning based on the individual needs of each patient.

  • Administer medications including IV drugs blood and blood products and controlled drugs in line with hospital policies and safety protocols.

  • Monitor and document patients after medication administration promptly reporting any adverse reactions or medication errors according to policy.

  • Follow best practice guidelines for infection prevention and control and report or manage infections as required while collaborating closely with the Infection Control Nurse.

  • Ensure the safe handling and proper disposal of medical waste in accordance with hospital policies and health and safety standards.



  • Requirements
    • Be registered in the General Division of the Register of Nurses maintained by the NMBI.

    • Have post-registration nursing experience preferably within surgical or acute care settings.

    • Hold a Registered General Nurse (RGN) qualification with active registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).

    • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care and services.

    • Maintain personal and professional accountability for the delivery of safe and effective patient care.

    • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with patients families and healthcare colleagues.

    • Flexible approach to working hours with the ability to rotate between day and night shifts as required.
