Unum Technology Centre in Carlow serves as a strategic software development and IT services centre supporting Unum a leading provider of income protection in the US. Our team of IT professionals build solutions and critical business applications to digitally transform the way we do business.

Software Engineers are responsible for the building and or configuration of software solutions within their business portfolio. They ensure software is delivered to high quality standards by collaborating with their agile team members and by leveraging unit testing and continuous integration. They participate in the estimation of work required to deliver software features.

As a Software Engineering Intern on the Acquisitions Team you will work with a Salesforce delivery team supporting solutions that enable our servicing capabilities. You will gain hands-on experience delivering enterprise applications in a fast-paced Agile environment.

You will learn how to:

• Configure and develop solutions on the Salesforce platform.

• Build integrations and APIs connecting Salesforce with enterprise systems.

• Support testing defect resolution and software releases.

• Work within Agile teams alongside Product Owners Business Analysts Engineers and Test Engineers.

• Leverage DevOps and AI-assisted development tools to improve delivery quality and efficiency.

• Contribute to enhancements that support key business processes and customer experiences.

This internship provides exposure to modern cloud technologies enterprise software delivery and real-world business transformation initiatives.

• Strong team player; able to work effectively within a team and more broadly with people from a variety of areas across the organization.
