Senior Quantity Surveyor
Job Summary
The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be a key member of the project delivery team taking ownership of commercial management and project finances while supporting project leadership and mentoring junior staff.
- Degree in Construction Economics Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
- 45 years experience at Senior QS level.
- Proven track record delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
- Chartered MSCSI/MRICS or working towards chartership.
- Strong commercial organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant QS/commercial software.
- Manage risk value engineering cost control and commercial performance across assigned projects.
- Support procurement strategy tendering and subcontractor appointments including preparation of tender documentation and analysis of returns.
- Manage subcontract packages including interim payments claims final accounts and retention.
- Support main contract administration including valuations final accounts variations claims and change management.
- Identify and manage variations in line with contractual requirements and notification procedures.
- Support monthly cost reporting CVRs cash flow preliminaries and materials updates.
- Assess and quantify the impact of delay and disruption.
- Identify analyse and manage commercial risks and opportunities.
- Mentor and support junior and project-level Quantity Surveyors.
