Job Summary

RecruitNet International Ltd specialises in Healthcare recruitment for Domestic and Overseas candidates for Hospitals Nursing Homes Home care and Community care.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Psychologist to play an integral role in a committed multi-disciplinary team.

Job Type: Full-time/Permanent

Location: On site / Dublin Ireland

Hours of Work: 37 hours per week Monday to Friday


Responsibilities

  • Postgraduate training or clinical experience in neuropsychology cognitive assessment neurocognitive disorders or neurodegenerative conditions would be advantageous.

  • Previous experience working within a mental health rehabilitation setting or framework.

  • Formal training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) including CBT for psychosis.

  • Training or expertise in at least one additional therapeutic modality such as family therapy DBT schema therapy emotion-focused therapy compassion-focused therapy or psychodynamic psychotherapy.

  • Training and practical experience in clinical supervision with the ability to provide supervision to colleagues.

  • Good knowledge and practical understanding of health safety and other statutory regulations applicable to healthcare organisations.

  • Demonstrable people management experience with strong leadership interpersonal and team management skills.

  • Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients visitors colleagues management and board members.

  • Be fully competent and capable of carrying out the duties and responsibilities of the Senior Psychologist role with the ability to provide regular and efficient service.

  • Be eligible to obtain Garda clearance and demonstrate fitness to hold the position with previous experience working specifically with schizophrenia considered advantageous.



Requirements
  • Hold a recognised Level 8 degree or diploma with first- or second-class honours with Psychology as a major subject and honours obtained in Psychology accredited by the Psychological Society of Ireland.

  • Hold a recognised postgraduate professional qualification in Psychology appropriate to adult mental health practice or an equivalent qualification validated by the Department of Health.

  • Have a minimum of eight years of relevant professional psychology experience.

  • Possess substantial post-qualification experience working within adult mental health services.

  • Demonstrate significant experience supporting adults with complex and enduring mental health difficulties.

  • Have previous professional psychology experience in a hospital inpatient mental health psychiatric rehabilitation or comparable healthcare setting.

  • Demonstrate experience working effectively as an active member of a multidisciplinary clinical team.

  • Possess strong clinical knowledge and professional expertise relevant to adult mental health practice.

  • Demonstrate a high standard of suitability professional judgement and management ability required for a Senior Psychologist role.

  • Have the knowledge skills and ability necessary for the effective and proper discharge of the duties and responsibilities of the position.
