Senior Occupational Therapist
Job Summary
We are currently hiring a Senior Occupational Therapist to join a leading hospital in South Dublin Ireland.
- Deliver effective and efficient inpatient Occupational Therapy services based on patient assessments
- Promote Occupational Therapy services within the hospital setting
- Provide educational sessions to nursing and medical staff on Occupational Therapy roles
- Support the development of outpatient Occupational Therapy services with the Allied Therapy Manager
- Implement operational procedures in line with best practice standards
- Supervise mentor and support Staff Grade Occupational Therapists
- Facilitate Occupational Therapy student placements
- Maintain accurate records reports and statistics for legal and organisational purposes
- Regularly review and update Occupational Therapy policies guidelines and protocols
- Encourage professional development and maintain professional dedicated and punctual work standards
- Degree in Occupational Therapy required
- Registration with CORU and Association of Occupational Therapists of Ireland (AOTI) essential
- Minimum 3 years clinical experience as an Occupational Therapist in an acute adult hospital setting
- Competent in cognitive functional and home assessments
- Strong experience in discharge planning within the acute sector
- Knowledge of older person community services and community Occupational Therapy referral processes
- Skilled in ADL equipment assessment prescription and pressure care management
- Experience in seating prescription wheelchair assessments and basic upper and lower limb static splinting
- Experience in falls risk assessments and intervention strategies
- Experience in paediatrics and acute neurological patient care is desirable

Required Skills:
