Job Summary

RecruitNet International Ltd specialises in Healthcare recruitment for Domestic and Overseas candidates for Hospitals Nursing Homes Home care and Community care.

We are hiring a Medical Scientist (Mult-disciplinary Laboratory) into our Hospital in Galway Ireland.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain a patient-centred approach in all laboratory and hospital activities.
  • Deliver a high-quality laboratory service that supports clinical patient care.
  • Perform laboratory duties in accordance with ISO 15189 standards and laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Receive analyse process and accurately report laboratory specimens.
  • Operate maintain calibrate and perform quality control checks on laboratory equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of instrument maintenance quality control and laboratory activities.
  • Ensure compliance with laboratory quality standards policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives within the laboratory.
  • Demonstrate professionalism integrity and ethical practice in line with the Medical Scientist profession.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to support effective patient diagnosis and treatment.
  • Participate in ongoing training competency assessments and professional development.
  • Adhere to all health and safety infection prevention and risk management procedures within the laboratory.

Requirements
  • Be registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Scientists Registration Board at CORU.
  • Excellent interpersonal verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality laboratory services.
  • Familiarity with ISO 15189 and JCI quality standards.
  • Strong scientific knowledge technical competence and professional judgement.
  • Excellent analytical problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage a busy workload effectively.
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of laboratory quality and patient care.
  • Previous experience as a Medical Scientist is desirable.
