Job Summary
What youll do
- Design build and maintain Java (17) services using Spring Boot and a microservices architecture.
- Build and consume RESTful APIs; work with event/streaming and messaging (Kafka RabbitMQ/JMS).
- Write clean well-tested code TDD/BDD unit and integration testing (JUnit Mockito).
- Containerise and deploy services (Docker Kubernetes/OpenShift) through CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins/GitLab CI).
- Integrate with relational and/or NoSQL data stores (Oracle/PostgreSQL; DB2 a plus given the estate).
- Contribute to solution design code reviews and non-functional concerns performance resilience security observability.
- Collaborate with architects BAs testers and product owners; support SIT/UAT and production releases.
Requirements
Essential skills
- 8 years hands-on Java engineering.
- Strong current Spring Boot and Spring ecosystem (Spring MVC Data Security).
- Proven microservices design and delivery in production.
- REST API design; messaging/streaming (Kafka or similar).
- CI/CD Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift; Git.
- Automated testing discipline (JUnit Mockito; ideally contract/integration testing).
- Comfortable in an Agile/Scrum delivery environment.
