We are now looking to grow our talented Geotechnical team with a highly experienced Senior Geotechnical Design Engineer.
Role Summary
We are seeking a Senior Geotechnical Design Engineer with a minimum of 10 years post graduate experience.
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering complex geotechnical design solutions across major infrastructure projects including highways motorways rail active travel schemes and drainage works.
This is a crucial position within our Geotechnical team supporting the delivery of multidisciplinary design projects for both public and private sector clients across Ireland.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage geotechnical input on large-scale civil infrastructure projects.
- Prepare and review geotechnical design calculations reports specifications and drawings.
- Provide technical mentorship to junior staff within the geotechnical team.
- Undertake ground investigation scoping design supervision and interpretation.
- Collaborate with civil structural and environmental engineering teams.
- Liaise with project stakeholders clients and contractors during design and construction phases.
- Ensure that all geotechnical design work is delivered to the highest quality and safety standards in accordance with Eurocodes and Irish/UK standards.
Qualifications :
- Degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering (Masters degree preferred).
- Minimum 10 years post-graduate experience in geotechnical design engineering.
- Proven experience working on large civil infrastructure projects within a busy consultancy environment.
- Strong experience in the design and analysis of earthworks foundations retaining structures and ground improvement techniques.
- Proficient in geotechnical design software (e.g. PLAXIS SLOPE/W WALLAP Settle3 etc.).
- Chartership (CEng or approaching Chartered status) with Engineers Ireland or equivalent.
- Excellent communication and report writing skills.
Desirable Skills
- Experience working in multidisciplinary teams on TII Irish Rail or NTA-led projects.
- Familiarity with BIM processes and digital design workflows.
- Project management and client-facing experience.
