The Role:
The Senior Estimator is responsible for accurately estimating project costs analysing tender documentation preparing pricing packages managing tender documents identifying project risks proposing value engineering solutions collaborating with the QS and Construction Team review and assess tender documentation to understand project requirements.
Role responsibilities include:
- Interpret and analyse tender documents for project understanding.
- Prepare tender review presentations and participate in site visits.
- Create pricing packages for consultants subcontractors and materials using estimating software.
- Conduct cost analysis on packages for effective cost comparison.
- Take accurate measurements of work and update as needed.
- Manage tender documents including handling queries clarifications and addendums.
- Identify and price project risks.
- Explore alternatives and propose value engineering solutions.
- Complete and submit tender documents following the Instructions to Tender.
- Prepare project handover reports and collect necessary tender documentation.
- Collaborate with the project QS and Construction Team for pricing strategies and quotes.
- Maintain estimating data for reports and tender applications.
- Assist the Bid Technical Manager in preparing tender applications and proposals.
Requirements:
- Relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying Engineering or Construction
- Previous experience in the construction industry with at least 7 years estimating experience.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials methods and processes.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Drivers license
