Abbott Diabetes Care has opened a new site in Kilkenny that is at the forefront of Diabetes care with the latest technology to manufacture FreeStyle blood glucose test strips and FreeStyle Sensors for use in diabetes management. Among Abbott Diabetes Care leading brands are the FreeStyle Precision FreeStyle Lite and FreeStyle Libre systems.

As the Senior Controls Engineer you will address intricate problem-solving situations that may involve conflictingdesign specifications the inadequacy of traditional materials and the need for effective coordination. You will design implement and maintain processes that help manufacturers increase productivity.
Key responsibilities:
Design anddevelopautomationsystemsand processes to improve efficiency and productivity.
Collaboratewith project managers engineers and other stakeholders to define project requirements and objectives.
Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments forautomation solutions.
Oversee the installation testing and commissioning ofautomation systems.
Troubleshootand resolve technical issues related to automation equipment and software.
Ensurecompliancewith industry standardssafety regulations and company policies.
Provide training and support to end-users on the operation and maintenance ofautomation systems.
Stay updated with the latest advancements in automation technology and industry trends.
Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree inElectronicEngineeringAutomationEngineering or a related field.
Minimum of 4-5 years of experience inautomation engineering with a proven track record of successful automation projects in the medical device industry
Strong knowledge ofautomation systemsPLC programming HMI developmentandSCADAsystems.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience with Allen Bradley Siemens andCodesyssoftware
