Meet the team
The Continuity/Weather team plays a vital role in connecting audiences with RTÉs content across television radio and digital platforms. Working in a fast-paced live broadcasting environment the team is responsible for delivering the on-air messaging that promotes programmes supports audience engagement and helps audiences navigate RTÉs diverse range of services and content. It is a collaborative and supportive team where creativity sound editorial judgement and adaptability are highly valued. No two days are the same with opportunities to work across a variety of outputs and contribute to the delivery of RTÉs public service remit.
We are responsible for Live and pre-recorded Continuity across TV and Radio platforms as well as all Weather/Traffic and Travel output. We also support a wide range of RTÉs content requirement across audio and video as needs arise.
About the role
Reporting to the Manager Continuity the Studio Coordinator is responsible for scripting presenting and transmitting on-air announcements that promote programming and support audience engagement across RTÉs television radio and digital services.
The successful candidate may be required to work across Television Continuity Radio Continuity and Weather depending on operational requirements.

This appointment will be made at the Studio Coordinator grade and is offered on a full-time fixed-purpose contract for an initial period of one month. Given the short duration of this contract applicants must be available for an immediate start.
The salary scale for this grade is from 46141 to 60683 gross per annum.
This role operates on a seven-day roster and includes evening weekend and other unsocial working hours.

- Strong knowledge of radio operations broadcast networks and audience platforms.
- Proven ability to operate a radio desk to a high standard.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Sound decision-making skills in a live transmission environment.
- Excellent editorial judgement and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of digital production and audio playout systems.
- A flexible proactive approach with strong problem-solving skills.
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- The ability to remain calm and focused while working in a fast-paced live broadcasting environment.
