Resident Engineer - Cork

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage on-site activities across various civil engineering works related to water and wastewater infrastructure.
  • Administer and manage construction contracts in compliance with relevant specifications and standards.
  • Supervise the inspection cleaning and maintenance of reservoirs to mitigate risks of microbiological chemical or physical contamination.
  • Support the implementation of Health Safety Quality and Environmental (HSQE) improvements across multiple project sites.
  • Liaise effectively with clients contractors local authorities and stakeholders.
  • Track project progress assess contractor claims and monitor budgets and schedules.
  • Maintain accurate site records and prepare clear concise reports.
  • Review and assess contractor submissions including as-built documentation and maintenance manuals.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent professional qualification).
  • A minimum of 7 years post-graduate experience with at least 2 years in on-site supervision of capital infrastructure projects (preferably water/wastewater).
  • Proven experience in contract administration.
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation and best practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and coordination abilities.
  • Full clean driving licence required.

Desirable Experience:

  • Delivering projects in line with specifications budgets and timelines.
  • Maintaining quality assurance and overseeing technical testing requirements.
  • Evaluating contractor payment applications and claims.
  • Supporting project planning and programme tracking.
  • Preparing and reviewing technical documentation and design submissions
