Tolead on a landmark project in Limerick we are looking for a Resident Engineer to join us. Working on a large residential building project youll lead the on-site engineering team of a redevelopment within Limericks city centre on an existing block delivering new commercial civic and public-realm infrastructure. This includes offices a city library an apart-hotel a public plaza underground parking and the refurbishment of protected heritage structures.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • To take a key role in the oversight and delivery of multiple construction contracts ensuring works are executed to the highest technical safety and quality standards.
  • Assist in liaising with the employers representative contractor client and all major stakeholders
  • Organise and maintain adequate site supervision at all times during construction works
  • Ensure that accurate and complete site records are kept including reports diaries correspondence and photographic records (hard and soft copy) and made available for inspection by authorised personnel
  • Assess contractor submissions including method statements for compliance with the Works Requirements
  • Review and report on contractor payment applications against verified work completed including value engineering proposals
  • Ensure all contractor design submissions and variations to the Works Requirements are reviewed approved and fully documented prior to execution
  • Monitor construction progress against the approved programme and report any delays or risks (including Maintain records relating to delays industrial disputes adverse ground conditions and disputes involving subcontractors landowners pier users or local businesses)
  • Ensure compliance with the conditions set out in all relevant permits licences and statutory approvals
  • Verify that Temporary Traffic Management Plans and construction phasing are implemented as agreed with the Client and relevant stakeholders
  • Prepare draft responses and supporting information for the Employers Representative in relation to claims for additional payment or extensions of time
  • Liaise with and support the Employers Representative throughout the construction and defects periods providing site data surveys and photographic records under the construction contract
  • Assist with the administration of the construction contract including correspondence and contractual records
  • Attend and contribute to Construction Stage Monitoring Meetings including taking minutes where required and preparing reports in advance summarising progress expenditure resources defects and outstanding issues

On top of thatyoullhave:

  • Competitive remuneration package commensurate with experience the salary band for this role is 50000 to 60000
  • Degree in Engineering or construction management
  • Experience in civil engineering works
  • Awareness of the duties and responsibilities of contractors and others under Safety Health and Welfare at Work legislation
  • Experience liaising with statutory undertakers stakeholders and landowners as required
  • Prior experience providing information to support the Employers Representative in preparation for conciliation or arbitration proceedings and participate in such hearings where necessary
  • Previously contributed to the development and ongoing review of the Construction Risk Register
  • The ability to ensure effective communication with all site supervisory staff on matters affecting their work
