Job Summary

Relief Chef

Location: New Ross Co. Wexford

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Relief Chef to join our team in a residential care home. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing nutritious high-quality meals for residents while maintaining the highest standards of food safety hygiene and kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook fresh nutritious meals in line with residents dietary requirements and preferences.
  • Ensure all food is prepared and presented to a high standard.
  • Maintain compliance with HACCP food safety and health & safety regulations.
  • Plan daily food production and assist with menu preparation where required.
  • Manage stock rotate supplies and minimise food waste.
  • Maintain a clean safe and organised kitchen environment.
  • Work collaboratively with the care home team to support the nutritional needs of residents.
  • Ensure all kitchen equipment is used safely and maintained appropriately.
Requirements
  • Previous experience as a Chef ideally within a healthcare nursing home hotel or catering environment.
  • HACCP/Food Safety certification.
  • Knowledge of special diets and allergen management is desirable.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable flexible and committed to delivering high-quality meals and service.
