ID Recruitment are working with a growing mechanical company in Castlebar who are manufacturers of insulated ducting solutions to recruit a R&D Mechanical Project Engineer. This role will report to the R&D Manager and will beresponsible for managing and supporting all aspects of companys research and development activities ensuring projects are delivered efficiently innovatively and in line with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities include;
Attend weekly project meetings and provide updates on the progress of R&D initiatives
Support the continuous development and improvement of R&D processes and procedures
Maintain and manage project GANTT charts to ensure targets and deadlines are achieved
Work closely with the R&D Manager to prioritise and plan R&D activities
Conduct research into emerging technologies and industry developments to support innovation
Take a proactive and creative approach to problem-solving and product development
Monitor and report on departmental KPIs and project performance metrics
Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to support product development objectives
Prepare technical reports documentation and instructional materials where required
Requirements
Honors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
At least one year experience in mechanical design and/or building services engineering .
Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks with working knowledge of Revit and BIM coordination
Experience using CAD automation tools such as DriveWorks
Open to adopting new technologies and innovative ways of working including AI-driven tools and processes to improve efficiency accuracy and innovation
Strong technical writing skills with the ability to create clear reports and instructional documentation
Excellent analytical creative thinking and problem-solving abilities
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively within a team environment
Knowledge of product development testing and evaluation processes
Legally authorised to work within the EU and fluent in English for business communication
Required Skills:
Bachelors Degree or Equivalent in Quantity Surveying Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline HVAC or Mechanical experience is an advantage but not essential Strong numerical skills and attention to detail Ability to analyse drawings and specifications
