Accommodation available if needed in a shared house - 400 per Month
Overview
Our client a well-established family-run quarrying and plant hire business operating in the South West of Ireland. Are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Quarry Operator to join their team.
The role
In this role you will safely operate heavy machinery support our ready-mix concrete and aggregate production and assist in maintaining a highly efficient community-focused local operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Heavy Equipment Operation: Safely operate excavators loaders haul trucks and mobile crushing/screening plants.
- Material Processing: Monitor load and adjust processing equipment for sandstone and limestone aggregates ready-mix concrete and agricultural lime.
- Haulage & Dispatch Support: Assist with the loading of company and customer trucks trailers and low loaders.
- Routine Maintenance: Conduct daily pre-start checks grease and lubricate equipment and report mechanical defects promptly.
- Safety & Standards Compliance: Adhere strictly to Irish health and safety regulations (HSA) site-specific safety policies and mandatory PPE requirements.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: 12 years of experience operating heavy plant machinery in a quarry sand/gravel pit or civil engineering environment.
- Certifications: Valid EU/Irish drivers license. Relevant CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) cards for specific machinery (e.g. 360 Excavator Loading Shovel) are highly desirable.
- Physical Demands: Physically fit comfortable working outdoors in all Irish weather conditions and capable of manual handling tasks.
- Skills: Excellent spatial awareness a mechanical mind for basic equipment upkeep and a cooperative safety-first attitude.
