At AECOM we are currently seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join our Cork office.

The Opportunity

As a Quantity Surveyor you will support the successful delivery of Cost Management commissions across a range of projects ensuring high-quality outcomes and excellent client service from inception through to completion.

  • Assist in the delivery of Cost Management commissions ensuring projects are completed on time within scope and to a high standard.
  • Support senior team members in the preparation of cost estimates cost plans tender documentation and financial reporting.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with clients consultants and project stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the effective management of project costs throughout all project stages.
  • Collaborate with Senior Surveyors Associates and wider project teams to ensure efficient delivery of services.
  • Assist in preparing and reviewing valuations variations and final accounts.
  • Support business development activities including bid preparation and client engagement opportunities.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards cost management practices and professional development requirements.
  • Ensure all Cost Management outputs are delivered in line with agreed timelines quality standards and client expectations.

Qualifications :

What Were Looking For

The successful candidate will bring experience within the buildings sector along with the following qualifications and professional credentials:

  • Degree Qualified BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying / Cost Management.
  • Professionally Qualified or working towards Chartered Status with the SCSI / RICS.
  • 35 years proven experience in a consultancy environment providing a range of Cost Management services including Pre-Contract Estimating Procurement Cost Reporting and Final Account preparation.
  • Strong understanding of construction costs procurement processes and contract administration.
  • Knowledge of Public Works Contracts and RIAI standard forms of contract.
  • Passionate about delivering high-quality consulting services and achieving positive client outcomes.
  • Ability to support clients and design teams on cost planning value management and project risk considerations.
  • Excellent IT skills with experience using digital measurement cost planning and tender document tools.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills with the ability to work collaboratively within project teams.
