Quality Control Technician
Job Summary
Job Overview
The Quality Control Technician will be a key member of the IEPRO Grits & Micron Team based in Shannon. This role is primarily responsible for ensuring that materials and products meet established quality standards through incoming inspection in-process and final inspection activities and product release processes.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Inspection & Product Release
- Perform incoming in-process and final product inspections across all test methods in accordance with approved procedures and specifications.
- Perform product release activities while maintaining compliance with quality standards and procedures across all product ranges in the defined business centre.
- Accurately record analyze and report inspection data.
Quality Management System (QMS)
- Ensure compliance with established product release and inspection procedures.
- Maintain quality records in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
Quality Investigations & Problem Solving
- Support investigations into non-conformances customer complaints and quality-related issues.
Work management
- Prioritise and manage work through the laboratory.
- Maintain Laboratory visual management tools and record laboratory metrics.
Training
- Be the key provider of training to staff on the Quality Control test methods.
Equipment & Calibration Support
- Support the calibration and validation of inspection and measurement equipment.
- Assist with troubleshooting and basic maintenance of quality control and measurement systems.
- Assist in the evaluation development and implementation of new or improved measurement and testing systems.
- Ensure equipment is fit for purpose and maintained in accordance with calibration schedules.
Health Safety & Environmental Compliance
- Promote a safe working environment and proactively identify potential risks or hazards.
Qualifications :
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- NFQ Level 5 qualification or higher in Engineering Science Quality Manufacturing or a related technical discipline.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel ERP systems and the ability to work with statistical and quantitative data.
Desirable
- Minimum of 4 years experience in a Quality Control Quality Assurance Engineering or Manufacturing role.
- ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) qualification or an equivalent industry-recognised certification.
- Experience performing inspections and using measuring equipment.
- Knowledge of quality systems manufacturing processes and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience with calibration systems and quality documentation.
