The Role
We are hiring a Quality Assurance Technician to join our Quality team at Midleton Distillery. This position supports the delivery of consistent product quality through laboratory analysis data reporting and continuous improvement activities.
This is a hands-on role within a laboratory environment working closely with production and cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct laboratory analysis across raw materials intermediates final products utilities and wastewater streams
- Record trend and analyse test results; escalate and investigate non-conformances
- Maintain and update laboratory documentation and standard operating procedures
- Perform calibration troubleshooting and verification of laboratory equipment
- Maintain laboratory supplies and coordinate servicing with external providers
- Support investigations by providing data insights to resolve quality issues
- Prepare reports and contribute to production KPI tracking
- Participate in internal and external audits
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the laboratory and production areas
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Production Health & Safety Environmental and Maintenance
Essential Criteria
- Third-level qualification in Science Food Science or related discipline
- Previous laboratory experience in a regulated environment (e.g. ISO BRC GMP)
- Knowledge of quality and food safety standards (e.g. ISO9001 ISO22000/FSSC22000 BRC ISO14001 or equivalent)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience with laboratory systems (e.g. LIMS SAP)
- Ability to accurately record analyse and report data
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Good IT skills
Desirable Criteria
- Experience in assay validation calibration or troubleshooting of instruments
- Experience preparing KPI reports or trend analysis
- Experience contributing to audits or compliance processes
- Exposure to continuous improvement initiatives

Working Pattern
This role operates on a rotating shift schedule including evenings and weekends.
Typical shift patterns include:
- 07:00 15:30
- 08:00 16:30
- 11:00 19:30
